The Coalition for National Dance Week was formed in 1981 by a group of dance related organizations who began a strong “grass roots” movement across the United States to bring greater recognition to dance as an art form. It has expanded to offer a number of different opportunities to extend the knowledge and love for dance nationwide. National Dance Week’s Mission Statement is “to expose and introduce as many people as possible to the enjoyment and benefits of dance through promoting dance in schools, expanding community awareness, and increasing professional development.”It will help to fulfill the mission statement and solidify National Dance Week.
