Lyrical Dance Costumes

This is a one hour class exploring various jazz styles. As dance artists, we only have two arms, two legs, a torso, and a head to use in our choreography. Because of this, our dance “tools” are limited. If we always move with the same energy, our choreography can become repetitious. But by changing the energy of a step, we change the style of the dance, making for more diverse and dynamic routines. We will practice exercises across the floor and explore how the different jazz styles (Lyrical, Classic jazz, Latin jazz, etc) can be manipulated simply by changing the energy or dynamics of the steps.A tap class that brings you technique at its best. We will incorporate new ways to execute the basics and tap choreography all in one hour.
