Women Crop Pants
It was less than forty years ago that bona fide blue jeans first adorned the cover of Vogue. Observance of Women's History Month would be remiss without mentioning the recent rights of women to wear pants, let alone denim. With the plethora of pleated and flat, wide-leg and skinny pants options, it is easy to forget that women have only been wearing pants---officially---for about 30 years. So, as we salute the strides of suffragettes, scientists and social activists, let's not forget the contributions of fashion icons that made it acceptable for women to wear the pants, too."Who wears the pants in the family?" is a phrase rooted in the history of women's e-pants-imation. It refers to a time when men were the only gender allowed to wear pants.
